Welcome to my portfolio site, this page is a collection of my past and more recent 3D art and design; much harks back to the PS2 era and some is WIP. But I hope to continue to update this page to reflect my various projects - including providing downloadable and playable content in the future.
Current Work:
I spent several years working in commercial video games development before having a change of direction and joining the Federal Government. I now work for a Federal Agency developing XR training content. An article about some of my work from a former employer:
As of the start of 2019 I commenced a scholarship through the University of Newcastle and the Defense Innovation Network to do a PhD on Cognitive Adaptive Serious Games & Simulation Training. I am very keen to explore ways that game and simulation technologies can be applied to training in order to improve learning outcomes.
Background:
I grew up wanting to be a comic book artist or illustrator. I attended UNSW College of Fine Arts and fell in love with 3D - this was in 1996. During this period I decided that I wanted to become a video game artist, and over a few years taught myself 3D and ultimately landed my first job - way back in about 2002! Fast forward several years, and in 2007 a friend and I decided to try and make our own game. Unfortunately this wasn't finished - life just got in the way and a whole new journey began...Today I work in government and I developed a training simulation for the department, developed in Unity. I have done all aspects for the game from design, scripting, art and more. It has reinvigorated my desire to get back up to speed on current art and design practices, and I hope to regularly update this portfolio with new work as I re-commence my game journey.
